Cruise ships are similar to schools in some ways, lots of people coming together in a relatively small space. It’s no wonder then that both are common sources of illnesses. It was therefore no surprise when we received an e-mail yesterday informing us that the departure had been delayed in order to deep clean the ship after the previous cruise – just one of those things!
So we made our way to Southampton slowly not expecting to board until mid-afternoon. We were pleased that by 2.00pm we were on the ship enjoying the first meal of the trip.
After eating we had plenty of time to explore the ship, Sylvia finding many different beds to lay upon……..
..while I examined the lawn on the top deck, which is used for Croquet. (The polo ponies are being rested for this cruise, Victoria!!)
After visiting the shops and buying Sylvia’s anniversary present (more about that tomorrow), we sailed off in the sunset towards Belgium.
So are u posting from your ipad Ken? How's that working out for you?
ReplyDeleteAlso I can't believe you did not buy Sylvia's anniversary present months ago. Shame!!!
