Having been to Cadiz on two previous occasions we thought that we knew our way around the town. Couple this with a map showing coloured walking routes which are painted on the ground, there should be no way that anyone could get lost in this old town. We managed it.
Things were going well as we passed the Bimbo bread van,
and made our way through several squares with beautiful orange trees.
At this point we appeared to be on the opposite side of town than we thought we were. It was then that we realised that the painted lines on the street corresponded with the walking routes on the map and we were back on track. We visited a couple of churches both of which had superb artifacts inside unlike the cathedral which has a plain interior. A visit to C&A and a quick look at the fish market completed the tour and we made our way back to the ship for a noisy Sailaway.
We were in port with Aurora another P&O ship which competed with ours to see who could make the most noise. We left the port first and passed the Aurora on the way out.
One of our friends from home, Gaynee, is currently on this ship but despite listening very carefully we didn't hear her.
We had been looking forward to our evening meal since we left home as tonight we had booked Sindhu, Atul Kurcher's award winning Indian restaurant. We were not disappointed. After a starter of grilled chicken in a garlic marinade with mint chutney I had a main of Rogan Josh. This was a large piece of slow cooked lamb shoulder together with a small lamb burger, curry fried asparagus and lentils. A dish that melted in the mouth with all the delicious Indian flavourings.
Sylvia had a trio of spiced scallops followed by griddled prawns in a spiced pepper and onion sauce. Win and Jim both started with lamb Marsala brochettes followed by the prawns for Win and the lamb for Jim.
For sweet both Sylvia and I choose the fennel bread and butter pudding with ginger custard which was out of this world.
A great evening meal but we are grateful that it is a sea day tomorrow so we can recover.
