The third day at sea.

At 5.30ish this morning we were woken by a terrific thunderstorm, bright lightening filled the skies closely followed by some huge claps of thunder. I got up and closed balcony door thinking that today would be a write-off weather wise. How wrong could I be, by the time we finally went to breakfast the sun was shining and the pool area had begun to fill up with sun worshippers. We decided to join them.

Here we stayed for the next three hours before taking a break and going for lunch. Lunch in the main restaurant is very civilised, none of the scramble you sometimes get in the buffet. It also gives a great opportunity to meet new people in a relaxed environment. Today it was a couple from Cornwall who had previously lived in Coventry (the man attending Nuneaton Grammar school during the war) and another pair from Sussex. They were both great company.

After a leisurely lunch and a very relaxing morning, it was time this afternoon for a spot of exercise. Firstly a round of putting on the course at the top of the ship...

.....followed by some time on the basketball court shooting some hoops and then a game of table-tennis. Although I won the putting competition Sylvia showed her old netball skills and clearly won the basketball.

The sun shone all afternoon and some passengers had visibly spent far too much time sitting in it: the lobster was served early this cruise. We had a nice walk around the ship.

I had to go three decks down in order to get this photo!

Tomorrow is our first stop,Barcelona, so an early start is needed. Hopefully the weather holds for some good photos.
