Day Five–The First Prize.

A fairly quiet day today, the weather first thing being slightly over-cast and VERY windy. This meant that everyone stayed beneath deck filling all the lounges and bars. We decided to enter the first quiz proper as a complete family with  a TV quiz on offer.Victoria and Oliver were a little late arriving at the venue after dropping the kids off at the Kid’s Club which left Sylvia and I to tackle the first four questions on our own. We were both a little dismayed to learn that the quiz would focus on “Daytime TV”. Now we may not do much when we are at home but the television rarely goes on much before the “Six O’clock News”, except if Joey wants to watch “Beebies”. So we failed to recognise “Flog It!”, a Channel 5 house styling programme and couldn’t remember the name of Trinny & Susanne’s TV show.

Luckily help was at hand with the arrival of Oliver and more importantly Victoria, who managed to correctly answered virtually all the remaining questions correctly [missing out on Judge Judy’s full name!!]. Yes, this the same Victoria who swears that she never watches television during the day being far too busy running around after Joseph!! It did however give us the first prize of a P&O Cruise………

…key-ring and pen set.

By this time the sun had come out and it was getting quite warm although the wind was still blowing well. Sylvia and I found a sheltered spot on deck and relaxed for the remainder of the afternoon in preparation for tonight’s formal dinner. I was woken from my sleep by two tigers who had just returned from the Kid’s Club [Joey grabbing a grape on the way].

Victoria and Oliver joined us for dinner in the main restaurant and once again we met another couple from Wales. This time they were from Cwmbran and had just married off their daughter [another Victoria incidentally] so I think you can guess how much of the dinner conversation went.

The clocks moved on again tonight by an hour so everyone on board is beginning to look a little tired. A last day at sea tomorrow before a hectic five port days [Corfu, Korcula, two days in Venice and then Dubrovnik].
